Sharetown’s reps don’t deliver to a doorstep. They go inside. They pick up mattresses, furniture, and large returned items from living rooms and bedrooms, on behalf of consumer brands whose customers are trusting them with access to their homes.

That trust flows in every direction. Brand partners need confidence in every rep who represents them. The people opening their doors need to know the person on the other side has been properly vetted. And Sharetown needs to be able to stand behind their workforce, not just when someone first comes on board, but for as long as they’re active.

A background check at hire is a helpful snapshot. It tells you who someone was. For Sharetown, that’s the starting point, not the finish line. The challenge was building a program that extended past day one, at scale, and actually enforcing it.

A Risk Program That Runs Continuously

Sharetown runs criminal background checks and motor vehicle record checks through Yardstik before every rep starts working. But the part of their program that reflects how seriously they take workforce trust is what happens after.

Post-hire rescreening runs on a regular cadence. Rather than sending reps an external link, Sharetown embedded the process directly into their rep-facing app. The check is triggered, completed, and enforced inside the platform their reps use every day. Reps who don’t finish it don’t keep working.

"We found that if we sent them just a link, a lot of times they didn’t trust it because it’s a third-party link. There was always some sort of confusion. Building it into our own platform means reps are more likely to actually complete it."

Sharetown works with a dedicated Yardstik account contact, meeting every two weeks to work through anything in flight.
