Minneapolis, MN, January 10, 2024—Yardstik, a Trust & Safety Platform built to help high-volume hiring businesses hire, verify, and onboard workers at scale, announced today that Josh Cutler, former Chief Data Scientist and Technology Fellow at UnitedHealth Group, has joined their executive team as Chief Technology Officer. The addition follows an impressive year for Yardstik and makes way for accelerated growth in 2024.
Cutler, who most recently served as CIO at Onda, a cyber insurance platform, brings nearly twenty years of deep experience helping startups and Fortune 500 organizations. He’s built a career developing innovative software platforms and modernized tech stacks, leveraging machine learning and AI, and establishing industry-leading security standards.
“It’s the perfect moment in time for Josh to join the organization,” said Yardstik Co-founder and CEO Matt Meents. “As an organization, we’re focused more than ever on delivering fast, modern, cost-effective technology to our customers and partners and have big updates coming in 2024. Josh brings the leadership experience and strong technical expertise we need to keep investing in our vision for trust and safety,” he added.
Earlier this year, Yardstik launched its comprehensive Trust & Safety platform, which delivers much-needed tools and innovation to high-volume hiring businesses and platforms looking for modern solutions that slow, fragmented legacy screening providers cannot deliver.
In October, the company shared its plans to hire more people across the organization after announcing they had raised an additional $12M round of funding, led by MissionOG with participation from existing investors Grotech Ventures, Rally Ventures, and Crosslink Capital.
Cutler is one of many new people joining the company, each with their own proven track record of helping companies serve customers, build products, enter new markets, and fuel growth.
“I’m thrilled to be leading in this new role at Yardstik,” said Josh Cutler. “The organization is growing and leading in ways that very few companies can relate to right now. I’m looking forward to building on the impressive growth they’ve experienced this past year and working with the team to provide businesses with better, faster, and more cost-effective ways to manage trust and safety as they grow,” he added.
Yardstik grew its customer base by over 300% in 2023. In 2024, the company will double down on its success and keep momentum going by adding new team members across marketing, sales, engineering, and customer success.
